gods, she just wanted to cover her ears. she was standing in the same spot as she had many times before. marble columns rose on her left and right, and thrones fit for giants lay unattended to, and empty. two massive men with beards were speaking urgently, their scowls making it clear one did not agree with the other. their voices hurt her human ears, for god-born or not she was still half human. as the voices grew louder, she raised her hands to her ears. before she could cup her palms around them, though, one of the bearded men spotted her and threw his hands over his head with a growl that rattled azzy's skull. she squeezed her eyes shut, awaiting something terrible. it took her a moment to realize that everything had gone silent, and she was no longer standing on hard marble, but soft overgrown grass. opening her eyes, azzy saw that she stood on half-blood hill, and she was not alone. a rather large sheep stood next to her, his dark brown eyes gleaming softly in the dusk light. she recognized this sheep, for it was bigger than most and it sported two mid-sized wings. it began to speak to her, it's voice melodic and smooth compared to that of those she heard just before. her eardrums rang, though they were calming down as the minutes passed. blinking blue eyes, she parted her lips to speak, to ask the sheep what was going on. just as she did so, though, the sheep shook his head sadly, and uttered an apology. she blinked again and was awake in bed, staring up at the ceiling of her cabin. soft piano music was playing in the cabin, a lullaby that one of the other members must have turned on before turning in. sighing, she sat up in bed, leaning back on her arms as her mussed hair fell in her face. shifting her weight onto her right arm, she rubbed her forehead with her left, catching her breath as if she had been running a mile. her heart was racing too fast for sleep now, and it seemed the dream was over, there was nothing more the gods needed to say. but azzy was still confused. why were they so mad? swinging her legs around and stepping lightly off of her bed, she made her way quietly through the cabin and to the front porch, where she sat upon an outdoor chaise lounge. laying back, she stared at the stars in the sky. well there was no sense in thinking about it now. the dream was too cryptic to get much from, anyway. even still, the sheep seemed upset about something, and it had seemed to be trying to tell her. although, he wouldn't let her speak. as soon as she tried, she was sent back. ugh, what time was is anyway? blinking, she peered around, and judged from the moon's position. it was sort of a gift from her father, being able to tell what phase the moon was in and what time it was based off of the position in the sky. she guessed it was around one in the morning. oh great, now she was going to be tired for tomorrow's lessons. of course, azzy conveniently forgot she was always tired for lessons. she closed her eyes, trying to focus on getting a little more sleep.
